TOPIC – SA AND VOLUME

A Hands-on Practical (HPC) activity was conducted in Class 9
on the topic Surface Area and Volume of Cone, Sphere, Hemisphere, and Cylinder.
Students worked in groups and used models of different solids to measure
radius, height, and slant height. Using these measurements, they calculated
curved surface area, total surface area, and volume by applying appropriate
formulas. Students related these solids to real-life objects and presented
their observations and calculations. The activity encouraged active
participation, improved conceptual understanding, and helped students apply
mathematical concepts in a practical and meaningful way.
